The School Counseling PPS 59-unit specialization prepares students to work as professional counselors in elementary, middle, and high school settings. Candidates develop knowledge and skills in student advocacy as well as in the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, results-based guidance and counseling programs for diverse student populations.

Through this program, students fulfill the requirements to earn a pupil personnel services credential (PPS) (http://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/CREDS/pupil-personnelsvcs.html) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and receive a graduate certificate in Restorative Justice. Our school counseling program is nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
